Story & Background
Cruise, whose registered name is A Flashy Owl, is a Tennessee Walking Horse known for his smooth, floating gait and naturally forward movement — the inspiration behind his barn name. Born on October 1, 2002, on the East Coast, Cruise is a bay with striking black points. His dam was once owned by singer Sheryl Crow, a unique part of his early history.
Cruise is deeply loving, curious, and affectionate, with a calm, steady nature. He enjoys baths, massages, and human connection, and is known for his strong hooves and soundness. Throughout his earlier years, he was primarily a trail horse, enjoying obstacle work, camping trips, and traveling with ease.
Cruise was generously donated to the Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach by board member Ginger, who thoughtfully chose TRC after researching therapeutic riding programs across California. Donating Cruise ensured he could continue a meaningful life of care, connection, and purpose — a role he fills beautifully today.
